Project15K is a pilot project involving 3 organizations: Net Impact, MBAs without Borders, & Barefoot Power. Our goal is to send an MBA professional to aid a solar enterprise in Uganda.
MBAs Without Borders is seeking to place an MBA for 6 months in Uganda with Barefoot Power, an innovative solar energy small business. Barefoot Power is the first small business of its kind operating in Uganda to combat the crippling effects of kerosene use by introducing affordable solar products to rural villages. Net Impact Boston has teamed up with MBAs without Borders to fundraise, support the MBA's research, and develop an expandable concept to initiate at other Net Impact chapters.
Develop Barefoot Power's mission to support rural men and women in Uganda with life-saving energy solutions. Train over 300 Small Scale Energy Entrepreneurs and assist in attracting financing from Micro Credit. Conduct numerous studies, etc.
Reduce the harmful efforts of kerosene. Better education for children - especially girls who are unable to study at night due to day-time chores. Create over 300 income generation jobs. PROVE CONCEPT FEASIBILITY FOR FUTURE COLLABORATIONS!
