Adolescents face a problem of lack of reproductive health information and services. To equip adolescent girls with life skills to improve their decision-making, negotiation and leadership skills that this will lead better reproductive lives. This will enable them to avoid early sexual debuts, teenage pregnancies, HIV, early child bearing, early marriages. These cause school drop-outs and loss of career aspirations long term goal: reduced school drop out associated with teenage pregnancies
Currently, adolescents lack reproductive health information and services. As a result, they are at risk of experiences reproductive health challenges. This explains why they engage in early sex, experience high HIV infections, teenage pregnancies and school drop out. Because of dropping out of school, they end up in early marriages and early childbearing. This increases their vulnerability to poverty.
The project will provide the following 1. Design IEC materials in a fact sheet about adolescent sexual and reproductive health including statistics on effects of early sexual debuts, HIV, teenage pregnancies, early marriages and early child bearing 2. Conducting life skills training on negotiate skills, decision-making, making choices and avoiding bad peer groups 3. supporting health centres to offer confidential youth friendly services,
Adolescents living safer and healthier reproductive lives, completing schools and becoming career professionals.
