Reach's training network brings life changing education on health, livelihoods and family finance to millions of adolescent girls and women in self-help groups across rural India.
Girls in rural India have adult responsibilities, but no authority. Arranged marriages as young as age 13 are still common. Discrimination, abuse, and deeply entrenched attitudes combine to deprive girls of education, health care, and support. This project gives girls practical decision-making skills and vital information about their health and finances, while increasing their solidarity with other girls and women.
Reach trains local organizations to equip self-help groups of daughters and mothers with practical skills and vital information on health and money management. Girls and women then share what they learn with others, multiplying the positive outcomes
Reach will equip 3 million very poor girls and women with life changing education to protect their health, improve their income and manage their money
