In Colombia, around 25% of the population that finishes High school completes a degree at the University, this information is based on statistics of the Colombian Education Ministery. One of the main reasons that people do not access or do not finish University is economic problems. These difficulties have led us think about how we can contribute people and we have been implementing partial scholarships to people over the years.
People who do not enter a university in Colombia have to start working in jobs they don't like and that the payments are minimal. This is why many families do not prosper, because they are earning a minimum wage throughout their lives and with this income everyone must live in a family. Because Colombia's minimum wage is low for the needs presented, many of them look for easy money and sometimes start jobs that are not legal.
This problem can be solved with our and the donors support. These scholarships will help these people to finish their Degrees and become in Self-sufficient. When these people finish their degrees they will have more opportunities to find a job and help in their homes, so poverty will automatically be reduced.
This project will help to increase the digit of, 25% of the population that finishes High school completes a degree at the University. The posibilities of improving quality life of the person that is involved and his family, increases exponentially, so then poverty will be reduced. It also decreases the probability of these people getting involved in non-legal businesses.
