Library for poor rural students.

Summary

We want to change South Sudan through Education. Since 2015, GDS School progam has provided an education to more than 20 students annually in Alur County, Wau. We believe Education is the only way to transform lives, thats why We are seeking to establish a school library to support the children's holistic learning. Lack of the most basic and relevant academic books has led to lower performance by many children in Alur School

Challenge

Lack of learning materials is prevalent at schools in Alur County, Wau, where most schools are privately run due to lack of government funding for public schools. While GDS School feeds and educates over 70 children daily, lack of school supplies and books prevent students from adequately progressing their learning

Solution

The library will provide adequate stationery for the children and adults in Alur schools. This will become a transformative process for our students to enable the academic journey to be more meaningful.

Long-Term Impact

Education is the sole important tool that can be used to transform and change the lives of every human being. We will be able to connect the beneficiaries upon graduation from this school to other potential schools to enable them complete their learning journey.
