Knowledge lab is about the building interactive learning centers through the use of better and affordable technology in 3 community schools providing education to around 243 students from underprivileged families living in Kathmandu Valley.
Recent statistics shows that in Nepal, out of 100 students enrolled in grade 1, only 30 of them stay till the grade 10. Most public schools are under-resourced and they regularly struggle to come up generate adequate resources for their students. As, a vast majority of students attending public schools do not have access to additional learning materials beyond the regular text books, this project aims to address this issue with the help of ICT.
Knowledge Lab will help bring technology based teaching aids to the classroom. This teachers will be trained to use the technology for improving the classroom teaching-learning process. Students will be motivated to learn, as they will be learning beyond their textbooks. KL will also help students to get well acquainted with the technology, which will help them in their further studies. Thus, the overall skills of teachers, and quality to classroom teaching will be improved.
This project will educate around 245 students from underprivileged background living in Kathmandu to learn better. They will be equipped with additional technological skills, which will be helpful in their further education.
