On Saturday 15th April Kids4Kenya held a car wash in Baltimore, MD and successfully raised over $1,100 to help fund the schools facilities feeding programs in Kasigau, Kenya.
We are continuing toliver our feeding programme at least at current levels. This currently involves providing a daily hot lunch to 1,200 of the 2,400 children across our partner schools, including all 400 or so nursery children. The programme supports all children at the three smallest schools (by enrolment) and nursery children at the three largest schools. To extend the programme to all pupils at just one of these three schools would cost an additional $11,000 per annum, on top of the $36,000 cost of the programme at current levels. To extend the programme to support all pupils will cost a total of around $65,000 per annum.
