Building work has started in the last couple of weeks on our inagurual staff housing project, involving the construction of a single staff house at Jora Primary. This flexible, reconfigurable building will provide accommodation for up to three teachers in three two-room units. The house will be built to high-quality specifications, and include electricity and lighting, along with shared outside toilets and washrooms. We expect to start work on a similar project at another partner school in the coming weeks, using the $18,000 that we recently raised for this purpose.
As an added incentive to this project we are delighted to have again been accepted to take part in the BigGive Christmas Challenge, a matched funding event that offers our supporters the opportunity to have donations doubled. We have a maximum of $12,000 available to us in matched funding and we are therefore targeting raising $12,000 in donations over the 3 days of the challenge in Late December.
