Our headquarters continue to make positive changes in the health of the sloths, titi monkeys and hundreds of abandoned, sick or injured animals who are helped and then released from our Wildlife Rescue Center. Our current Reforestation Project aims to reforest 117 Hectares of land in the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica a reforestation project that will include 94,000+ trees that will serve as a biological bridge for several species in the area and will be used for education and investigation.
The rainforest of the Pacific Coast is in danger of disappearing due to the growth of the Hotel Industry, city development, and Palm Oil activities. Many of the species in the area are losing their homes and turn to humans to be fed. This causes them to cross streets, cross electrical wires and get injured or get stolen for wildlife trafficking.
Our Wildlife Clinic receives over 200 injured animals a year and this number is growing, we receive a number of injured sloths, monkeys, macaws, toucans and many other species. We offer vet services, rehabilitation and we release the ones that are rehabilitated. Some of them can never be released back into the wild so we offer them a forever home. We do not charge for our services and rely on donations and visits to the animal sanctuary to keep the doors open.
We were donated 117 hectares of land to reforest and create a rainforest, with the donations received we will plant trees that will grow there forever and will create shelter and food for many species. We will also use the funds for our clinic for vet care, medicine, food, rehabilitation, build wildlife bridges and many more things these animals need.
