Foundation for Community Development Association is looking to improve on its already miniature Kids After School program to benefit as much as 100 young minds in the Communities of North West and South West Regions of Cameroon through the establishment of a state of the art learning center that can hold that number and the provision of digital learning tools to corroborate this modern age of learning
It is no secret education in Africa for the majority of kids is not up to international standards, with the privileged few who enjoy such luxury as good quality education having to pay fees which though not exorbitant in developed countries, are out of reach for the majority of the indigenes. We seek to breach the gap between this somewhat low standard of education with a center where kids can consolidate the archaic teaching methods in their local schools with an advanced learning environment.
This program will make available digital learning tools (tablets, computers, smart phones) which are customized to suit kids, supervised access to the internet, interactive, strategic and intellectual games (chest, checkers, dominos etc.), field trips(zoos, botanical gardens, sites of geographical and historical importance) and a host of others that are less common in Africa within reach for the Indigenes. Kids will be able to interact with their peers, share information, get prepared for job ma
This program is initially set to impact the creativity, self and global awareness of 100 kids, building a mindset that recognizes opportunity at first glance and equally aware of the ideal means to grasp and avoid negative consequences to themselves, the environment and the upcoming generation thereby raising the potential of an African Warren Buffet, Mark Zuckerberg, Angelina Jolie, Celine Dion etc. and thus generally improving living standards of the population.
