This campaign will support 2 of the initiatives KFPR is engaged in: 1. Centro Maria de Los Angeles - the only summer camp for disabled children in Puerto Rico: We've been providing manpower every two weeks to clean up the facilities of brush, trees, and dirt. We'd like to extend our support financially as well. 2. KFPR's Korean School for children: Currently, there is no option for Korean and local children to learn the Korean language. We'd like to fill that gap.
Centro Maria de Los Angeles: There is a lot of clean up to do before the summer camp can open and we'd like to support them with both manpower and money. KFPR Korean School: No options are available for children in Puerto Rico.
Centro Maria de Los Angeles: Help provide much needed power tools, such as chainsaws, for the clean up effort and expedite the preparations. KFPR Korean School: Help allocate funds to the program and hire a Korean language teacher.
Centro Maria de Los Angeles: Have a year long facility for disabled children to visit and join various programs. KFPR Korean School: Allow Korean and Puerto Rican children to be exposed to the language and culture of Korea. -- [Suyon Yi, President] [June SungHee Thompson, Fundraising Committee]
