Sharing gifts from a sponsor with brothers
Change is inevitable. This one has been one of the best! The public school where our children attend has become increasingly crowded. The children who come to our Children's Home often have spotty educational histories. Being placed in a class of 60 students, the teacher cannot meet their needs and fill in the blanks in their education. After watching one of our children suffer trying to learn without a proper foundation, we decided to send the three youngest children in the Home to a school that specializes in individualized curriculum. it cost a bit more but their education is worth it.
This school was not yet a boarding school so our three boys were the first boarders. The distance to this school is too far for a daily commute. But it is not too far for them to come home on weekends. They were nervous about going so far to school, what would it be like, what about their friends. We were glad there were three of them to bolster each others' courage.
Their first weekend home was proof is the wisdom of the decision. Already their English was improved. They were tested upon arrival at the school and then placed where they needed to begin. The boys were beaming! One was number 1 and the other number 2 of the children in their group! This was not only great academic reinforcement but after being number 55 of 62, you can imagine how that lifted their spirits!
When they arrived Home that first weekend the happy chatter did not end until well after dark and continued again the next morning! I have not heard those three boys talk so much since they arrived here.
A good change....
