Since making it through the Global Giving August Open Challenge--and with all of your generous support--Crown Jewel Club has graduated 18 more girls from the core program, opened an office, and begun work on a new program.
In September, our flagship school Trinity Street Elementary dedicated a classroom solely to Crown Jewel Club. With the help of supporters like you, we were able to turn the aging room into a place fit for a princess. The girls were thrilled to spend their afternoons in a room drenched in purple, gold, and crowns as far as the eye could see.
So many of the girls came in shy and withdrawn, but by the end of the session, their transformations were remarkable. They didn't just smile, they beamed. They stood tall with confidence, and many of them said their lives would be changed forever.
In November, Crown Jewel Club opened its first office in El Segundo so that more supporters and volunteers can help with the administrative side of an organization that continues to grow because of your support.
We also began work on launching Gorgeous Gems--the follow up program--at Clinton Middle School. With this program, Crown Jewel Club will continue to engage girls in sixth grade through 12th grade--refreshing the skills they learned in the core program, teaching new skills like how deal with bullying or how to say no when asked to join a gang, have sex, or do drugs, and giving them opportunities to be of service in their own communities.
In the spring Crown Jewel Club will be in four locations, and we could not have made such great progress without the kindness and generosity of supporters like you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
