This project increases the capacity of fourteen African-led organizations to educate vulnerable children, build peace, and stop the cycle of poverty in communities through business and agriculture. Right now your contributions will fund our FOURTH ANNUAL MEETING (September) in Kampala. Organizations will share with each other successful capacity building strategies that are essential for achieving self-sustainability and becoming centers for learning.
Indigenous African organizations hold a wealth of untapped resources for advancing their communities. Often, they work in isolation and without the benefit of ideas gained through collaboration. The challenges of community development they address are significant, but not unique. Through a network of African organizations these partners give and receive benefits. They access the intellectual and social capital of peers to overcome the challenge of working alone.
Innovation meetings allow Africa Rising partners to share knowledge, solve problems, and operate more effectively. This in turn means more children educated, more peaceful communities, greater poverty reduction, and more empowered individuals. UPCOMING ANNUAL MEETING: Africa Rising is hosting a 3-day event in September that will focus on capacity building.
Each of the fourteen Africa Rising partners will be a center of learning and innovation. Other communities can learn from the success of these African organizations in creating community transformation.
