Believing in the hopes and dreams of orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa, our mission is that every child has hope and a future; where the effects of poverty, trauma and disease are no longer seen. The Home of Hope provides holistic support and education assistance to orphaned and vulnerable children, (grades 1-6), and their families as they face the effects of poverty, HIV & AIDS, trauma and learning difficulties. We plan to replicate this holistic model throughout South Africa.
There are millions of children living below the poverty line in South Africa. iKhaya le Themba partners with parents to provide holistic care and educational support to children and families made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS and other difficult life circumstances. We accomplish this through our reinforced learning program and homework lab for children in grades 1-6, our parent resource centre providing skills training- sewing, baking, and hospitality skills school where 44 of 48 people were employed
iKhaya le Themba was founded on the desperate need of the community: 'Rather than build an orphanage , help us raise the children?' In Imizamo Yethu are hand built shacks of shelter and support to the most orphaned and vulnerable children of the community. Partner with us in this initiative and join our Amazing Human Race tobecome the change you wish to see in this world.
