The son of Maria de Lourdes, Rogério, was born with sickle cell anemia, a hereditary disease that causes malformation of red blood cells. Referred to Hospital da Lagoa, the disease was quickly diagnosed and the boy was treaty. The life of Maria de Lourdes, however, was already seriously affected.

Separated from her husband, she could not work. Due to the constant child crises, Maria de Lourdes spent the time leading Rogério to the doctor or watching him while  in the hospital. She wants to work with the child and it is already planning to expand the salon, with floor and door donated by ASC.
