Job shadows provide a very important experience for both the businesses and the youth involved. Thanks to your support last February, students from all over the Portland Metro Area were connected to essential exploration and learning.
Some learned about jobs: "I didn’t even think that a bank would need a marketing team, besides just tellers and accountants."
Others learned more about the business and their practices and culture: "They really want to know about what’s going on and who their clients are. They try to develop good relationships. That’s how they set themselves apart."
And all of them were able to experience a job they were interested in thanks for your support!
As we enter into the last couple of weeks of 2012, we are looking to 2013 to plan for next year's Job Shadow Event. It will take place in March 2013, and we hope to have your support as we look to increase the number of youth we reach.
Happy Holidays Everyone!
