This project aims to provides solar powered lamps to school children who live in off-grid communities in Myanmar, such as the Hlegu Center and Saytanar Mercy Village. Sky-rocketing land prices in Myanmar have caused a rise in the number of landless people. These people then move into off-grid communities in order to survive. These numbers contribute to the 1.1 billion people that live without electricity across the world. This effects every aspect of their daily lives and makes it very difficult for children to engage in school.
Jezuba solves these problem by directly giving solar powered lamps to kids in these villages. This allows them and their families to keep up with their classwork and gives them a better opportunities to break the cycle of poverty.
