It is important because we at BSL Inspirations believe if we empower these girls, they will not only become self-reliant but also breadwinners of their households and by extension contribute to the growth of their communities.
The number of girls dropping out of school and getting pregnant in their teen years is on the ascendancy. Due to this most have become dependent on other family people or their baby fathers for survival. Some have not learned any trade that they could ply to make some money for their upkeep and that of their children.
This project when undertaken will go a long way to equip these young girls with employable skills thereby causing them to become self-reliant. The dependency rate will decrease and they will work and become breadwinners of their families and can support other needy girls as well.
The community we believe is the people and the people are the community. It, therefore, suggests that the quality of the people will translate into that of the community. Imagine 20 girls trained and established with their own shops? In no time they will also qualify to train other girls? After several years we are sure to be impacting the community greatly as a long term impact with this project. We are looking for training several thousands of these ladies.
