Thank you for your investment!

Women's literacy class in Giraeet, Sarlahi.

Dear Peace Investor,

You might be wondering how your gift has changed the lives of others. We will tell you that it has made a tremendous difference in the lives of the people in Sarlahi, Nepal. We thank you for your generous investment!

Panmayalobcha is a 23-year old mother who has recently given birth to her first child. She has been attending Nepali literacy classes that you have enabled us to provide. She loves it so much that she even carries her infant child to class! Panmayalobcha is becoming a big advocate for education, especially for women and girls who are often kept at home to assist with house chores. Now she volunteers once a week at the "mobile library" where she rides a bike carrying books for children and adults who live in remote places.

In Sarlahi, only around 1 in 5 women can read and write. For ordinary women doing ordinary things such as riding the bus, reading street signs, purchasing products and feeding medicine to a sick child are difficult tasks because they are illiterate. Some women prefer to stay at home. Investors like you have allowed us to provide literacy classes to over 500 women in Sarlahi from 2009 to 2011.

This is the fruit of your investment. We appreciate your support! Please help us spread the word to your family and friends so that we can reach 1,000 women in Sarlahi like Panmayalobcha by 2015!

In Service,

Kay Kim
