Dear Peace Investor,

On behalf of our community in Sarlahi, Nepal, I'd like to thank you very much for making a difference in the lives of women and children. Their lives will flourish through your continuous investment in peace and development.

Through your support we have been able to provide over 500 books for the students at Shree Jana Jagriti Primary School. The library not only holds books for students but it also provides a safe playhouse for children complete with toys which are rare finds in Sarlahi.

When we first met with Heram, the school principal, we learned that ever since he started working at the school in the village, he had spent a lot of his time visiting each household in the hilly areas of Sarlahi to convince parents to send their kids to school. Sometimes girls, rather than attend school, stay at home to assist their families in the field and in the house.

It makes Heram smile everyday watching the children walk to school with thoughts about reading storybooks and novels at the mini-library. Let alone, playing with cool toys that they have never seen before! Parents too, are surprised to see the excitement in the faces of their children.

We have started the year with a goal of expanding the mini-library beyond the 15 we have so far and doubling the number of women beneficiaries who also use the mini-library to 1,000 by 2015. To realize this goal, we have expanded our support team in Sarlahi by two more staffs.

You are our partner in this effort to raise the literacy level of women and children living in Sarlahi. We are truly grateful to have you on board! Please like us on Facebook and send a link of this page to your friends, family and colleagues so that we can reach our goals faster than ever!

In Peace,

Kay Kim
