Nirnaya representatives were on a visit to Tekari between 21st - 24th May 2007 and the following first project steps are being initiated: *Baseline survey will be completed by the 10th of June and sent to Nirnaya for analysis
*Women will be encouraged to take active interest in the launching of all activities. As of the day of the visit in the two community meetings in Tekari, not a single woman was present
*Setting up of a tailoring centre in 2 villages in and around Tekari. One of them being in the Bhuyan community. The centres would be formally launched in July. Hiring of the trainer, room for the training, purchase of the machines
*Setting up an exclusive school for girl children. This school would cater to the economically marginalized section of the society. This school would be set-up in Tekari
*Facilitating a sustainable income generation activity for the women who are bone poor through liason with an organization training local communities in this field
