With support of 50,000 Uganda shillings approximately 20$, SORAK with support from GlobalGiving donors has been able to improve the life of one teen mother widow. Despite her HIV/AIDS status and that of her new husband, she has been able to raise an AIDS free health baby boy. See detailed report attached.
When Olivia was provided a seed grant of 20$, she was able to invest into start up capital by buying a charcoal stove, a kilogram of wheat flour, a table and baking powder. She is now able to earn a daily income of 8$ which is far above the 2$ dollars below which one would be categorised to be living under the poverty line.
Olivia now life a changed life free from stigma. She continues to preach positive living among other fellow positive young women and men.
Great thanks to our donors and those who will donate more to better lives of many more teen mothers in similar situations.
