Young widows go Chicken, affords better life

By Muhammad Kyeyune | Executive Director

Young widows supported by gloabal giving who took on local  chicken rearing  have had a good story to tell. They never anticipated that 10 chicken given to each of the ten widows worth 200$ would change and improve lives worth hundreds of dollars.

Widows have had thier chicken numbers multiply, some have completed houses which they never expected to complete before dying of HIV/AIDS.Others have given testimonies of improved provision of schoolastic materials, affordability to meet school fees, transport costs to health units and earning cash through sale of chicken and eggs.

The stories as told by Edith, Jane and Grace attached in a PDF document have a lot to tell.

SORAK has learnt that with as little as 200$ lives of 10 widows can be directly improved along side other 20-40 dependants ( orphans.)

SORAK anticipates to continue selecting many more needy widows. We are only  limited by lack of money to reach many more other deserving rural marginalised widows affected by HIV/AIDS.

We are progressively reaching out to many more others. However this has created a situation where SORAK recieves constant requests for assistance amidist lack of financial resources.

Our hope is in the existing donors and many more who can give as little as 5$ that can buy a chicken enough to multiple into other 50 chicken in less than 16 months. This will prolong lives of vulnerable souls that had lost hope in life.Widows that were only waiting for thier death are now rejoicing and share smile beaming faces with SORAK.

Dear Donor ,read on the success story attached and testimonies given by three of our 10 chicken beneficiaries.Another 200$ will change lives of another 10 vulnerable widows and their dependants for ever.

Thanks our dear donors.
