Your funds help children like this one
Dear friend of Congo Lotus Care,
In September 2013, thanks to your enormous support, we raised $5,000 within 4 weeks! That allowed us to stay on Global Giving permanently. With this spot, comes the responsibility of periodically updating you on the progress we are making J.
What we did with your donations
Since November 1st, we have been able to purchase many of the basic medicines needed here in Kinshasa: pain and fever reducers, malaria medicine, waterborne disease medicine, laboratory supplies, and more basic medical supplies. We also paid some operating costs such as water, rent and electricity.
Sabrina and Daniel
In the last few weeks, our clinic provided care to Sabrina, a sick 24 year-old woman who was in the 6th month of her pregnancy and had not yet seen a Doctor. We also received a little boy named Daniel in the middle of the night – He might not have made it to the next day were it not for the IV he received. Your generosity made a difference to Sabrina, Daniel and to many others. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Sharing, Christmas Giving, and Year-end Challenge
Now that Congo Lotus Care earned this permanent spot, we are seeking ideas to raise more funds to move beyond day to day expenses and start planning for much needed equipment, as well as operating and delivery rooms for c-sections and other life-saving surgeries. That is only possible if you remain involved, and share information with friends and family about us.
Please help us make one final push between now and December 30th to capture last minute Christmas givers before tax season 2014! The more the better, and there are bonus awards for the top projects that raise the most money from their supporters: http://www.globalgiving.org/leaderboards/year-end-2013/
Thank you, and Merry Christmas from Congo Lotus Care!
