Greetings from The Teacher Foundation .

We would like to thank all our donors who have supported our Coaching For School Success (CFSS) project implemented in 16 Government Higher Primary Schools (GHPS) in Shiggaon Taluk of Haveri District, Karnataka State, India.

An update on the Implementation of the CFSS project at Shiggaon Taluk, Haveri has been provided below.

In the month of January, the TTF team co-ordinators visited all the schools and supported coaches to conduct demo sessions on Active Learning strategies to their fellow teachers.

In the month of February, Coaches were trained on Coaching and Mentoring module for 2 days. This module will enable heads and senior teachers (coaches) to coach their colleagues. The workshop has been designed with actual classroom videos and participants get hands-on practice in Coaching to understand the process better. TTF trained the coaches to observe teachers in the classroom and give reflective feedback.

This was followed by providing support to coaches in coaching process in their schools. Coaches and TTF Co-ordinator observedteachers’ classroom practices, and they were provided with reflective feedback. This was conducted in 2 rounds called Triad supports.

During Triad support – 1, TTF Co-ordinator conducted classroom observation and feedback sessions with the teachers, and coach observed the process of giving feedback. We visited all the schools and supported the coaches.

During Triad support – 2, Coaches gave feedback to their fellow teachers(coachees), and TTF facilitator provided feedback to coaches on their coaching practices. This provided platform for the coaches to reflect on their coaching skills and improve the same. During Triad 2 support, we could support 13 schools. Remaining schools had events in their schoolsn and hence it was not possible to support those schools during this period.

Endline observation was conducted to coaches and coachees in the month of March.
