This project imparts demand driven employability skills to young needy and vulnerable youths aged 18 to 30 years, and links them with employment opportunities in different economic sectors in Kenya. Through our Youth Employability Skill model, we train them in technical and entrepreneurship skills for three months and later place them to employment with a success rate of 90% of the total youths reached. This way, we create a sustainable livelihood and reduce poverty among communities.
1. 22 Million out 10.7 million youths aged 15 to 34 years are unemployed. This puts the official rate of unemployment in Kenya at 11.4%. To earn a livelihood, young people engage in unlawful activities which includes drugs trafficking, prostitution, theft or even terrorism and extremism. As a result, young people faced by untimely death or jail sentences. Best Workforce Development Plan Kenya seeks to fill the gap that exists between the unskilled youths and Employment opportunities.
Best Workforce Development Plan Kenya provides the youths with demand driven skills that will see 1000 young people secure jobs every year, both in formal and informal sectors, with a success rate of 90% In addition, it will provide a practical based Entrepreneurship Model that will ensure young potential Entrepreneurs are able to start Small Micro Enterprises that will provide them with traceable income and create more jobs for other youths.
The project will train and place 1000 young, needy and vulnerable people every year. This will significantly reduce the poverty levels within the community as well as bring about peace and stability, which leads to the future economic growth.
