Challenge

Far more Palestinian homes were demolished by the Israeli Army this year than in any year in the past decade. To safeguard villages, RA has held some 127 briefings with Congressional staff on both sides of the aisle & with the State Dept. Facing an unpredictable new administration, we need your help to mobilize constituents more effectively than ever. We seek to respond at the first sign of crisis to prevent demolitions while advocating for policies to assure Palestinian villages their future.

Solution

The most moving, empowering efforts we've ever organized are 'Community Mapathons', at which student and peace groups work with Palestinian villagers to map the villages on Open Street Map. We ask your help to hold mapathons nationwide and in Palestinian villages. Showing what actually exists is a step toward international perception of Palestinian villages as legitimate & permanent, not temporary or transient. In the process, we'll build coalitions and engage diplomats to prevent demolitions.

Long-Term Impact

Speaking tours and #HeresMyVillage Mapathons, social work that starts with Pinwheels for Peace, and our new 'Evincible' mobile app all provide proven and effective ways to build U.S. constituent engagement to keep Palestinian neighborhoods standing. Youth, children will know their vision of peace matters when the tech giants put Palestinian villages on maps, and Congress and the U.S. President intervene to recognize the human right of Palestinian villagers to plan and build on the land they own.
