Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund

What's Happening and How to Help

We believe that organizations that are deeply rooted in local communities are in the best position to provide long-term support for survivors of natural disasters like these. By funding the relief efforts of local organizations, donations to this fund have the potential to build stronger response capacity so that these organizations are better equipped to face future challenges.

The projects listed below are led by vetted GlobalGiving partners responding to this disaster. You can donate directly to a specific project or to GlobalGiving’s Hurricane Beryl Relief Fund and we'll allocate it to where it's needed most. GlobalGiving will post reports about how your donation has been put to use.

Hurricane Beryl Emergency Relief Fund
Blue Atlas Project is responding to the dire situation in the lower Windward Islands that were hit by Hurricane Beryl. Beryl made landfall on Monday afternoon as a category 4 hurricane, being one of the strongest storms at this early stage of the season, so far decimating islands in SVG, Grenada and Jamiaca. BA is partnering with individuals on the ground and leaders in the aqua- and agri-culture communities to help rebuild a sustainable food system.
Americares Responds to Hurricane Beryl
Americares is responding to the health needs of hurricane survivors in the Caribbean and the United States after Hurricane Beryl carved a path of destruction from the Windward Islands to Texas in early July. In the Caribbean and Texas, where the storm did the most damage, Americares is shipping urgently needed medical supplies to partner clinics directly impacted.
Hurricane Beryl Response in Jamaica and the U.S.
After carving a path of destruction through the Caribbean, Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas. In Jamaica, where Beryl was one of the strongest storms in the past 15 years, there is widespread damage to buildings and utilities. An estimated 160,000 people require humanitarian aid and flooding has increased the risk of disease. In Texas, high winds and flooding have left millions without power during a period of extreme heat. International Medical Corps is responding in both places.

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
