This project will provide an emergency aid to internally displaced persons (IDPS) in North-Kivu (Congo). These people who fled between April and mid-July were identified between Kitsumbiro and Lubero. They were forced into displacement by violent clashes that erupted west and south east of Lubero between Mai-Mai NDC/R armed groups and Mai-Mai UPDI/Mazembe on the one hand, and FARDC on other.
There are currently more than 16000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS) in need of assistance in Lubero territory (North-Kivu) who have not received any humanitarian assistance yet due to the lack of actors with the capacity to assist them. . These IDPS were forced into displacement by violent clashes that erupted west and south-east of Lubero, according to the NGO Save the Children International.
EEF will provide food, meal, shelter and assitance to the most vulnerable of these internally displaced persons to alleviate their suffering. The project will take into account the strengthening of the capacity of host families.
The project will improve the lives of internally displaced persons and will build the community resilience.
