With the onset of monsoon towards end of June 2018 we arranged plants from recognised plan nurseries and took uip plantation work which went on until 15th August 2018.   More than 500 species of fruit plantation was done in 7 communuities where the people comitted to maintain them.  The people prefer fruit trees over fodder and timber trees on the privvate land since they become a source of nutrition for the families and also generate some income to them after 3-4 years.

During the begining of August 2018 we planted more than 500 trees of timber and shady trees on the forest land in collaboration with Forest Officials at Kuthar (Solan district).   International volunteers also joined the drive and were very happy to learn of the importance of this plantation through the Forest Department officials.

The project is going to help reduced carbon emission and check climate change in the long run.

Dear All,

Thank you for your support! You are a vital part of the work we are doing here.

We are currently in one of our hottest months, May. We definitely can't plant right now if we want the project to be a succes! In June/July temperatures will get milder and the climate will get wetter. It's during this time that we are looking forward to planting the sapplings!

Our supplier is local in an effort to support the local economy! Additionally, the tree species are native in an effort to preserve the ecology of the area.

Again, thank you for your support to RUCHI.

Warmest Regards,

Dharamvir Singh

Executive Director of RUCHI
