In April 2013 until April 2014, Casita Linda and the Board of directors have accomplished many things to further the mission to build homes for the poorest of the poor in San Miguel de Allende Mexico:
Reduced the cost of Casita Linda homes for the poor by two thirds, and reduced construction time by approximately half.
Initiated Mexico's first ever National design competition for Casita Linda homes.
Partnered with the City of San Miguel to create the first international conference on future trends in architecture.
Expanded the Board with local prominent business leaders: Nancy Hoeze, owner/manager CDR Realty: and, Josefa Jongitude, local manager of CI Banco offices.
Prodeuced two renowned fundraising events: October 2013, "Spirit of Hope Gala" and "Get Loose under the Goose" 60's party that took place in February 2014. The proceeds from these events funded continued construction of Casita Linda homes.
Doubled the number of homes built yearly to accomodate one hundred and fifty persons.
Expanded Casita Linda's reach to more Ejidos/Barrios surrounding San Miguel de Allende.
Initiated and provided fourteen new social programs for home recipients on health. education, and nutrition.
Casita Linda continues to improve all aspects of its services to the poorest of the poor residents of San Miguel de Allende. Casita Linda A.C. would like to take this opportunity to thank the local, national, and international community for their continued support.
