Happy New Year! Casita Linda wishes you and your family a wonderful 2016!

I and Casita Linda's Board of Directors, on behalf of all the families we have served and continue to serve, thank you for your generosity. We are extremely grateful to those of you who have involved not only yourselves but have included your family and friends to support us. Our ability to provide adequate housing for those living in extreme poverty in Mexico simply would not be possible without you.

2015 was quite the busy year. We have had new members join our team; we are constructing Casita #90 in the local neighborhood Nuevo Pantoja; we continue to use our effective family selection process, which involves members at all levels of our organization; and we hope to begin the development of new workshop programs for Casita Linda families. In addition, we successfully hosted our 4th Annual Spirit of Hope Gala at the beautiful Hacienda Santa Clara in October 2015. We would like to thank this wonderful organization that represents a new international educational model between U.S. and Mexico, for their support in hosting our wonderful annual fundraiser.

We would like to also welcome two of our newly appointed board members, Ann Marie Jackson and Kerry Trull. Both have proven to be highly driven and helpful to our wonderful team, and both come from strong and successful backgrounds with extensive experience. We welcome both to our wonderful community and organization.

Casita Linda would like to take this opportunity to thank the local, national, and international community for their continued support througout the year. We appreciate your past and future support, and hope that you and your friends or members of your family will be able to support our goals and ultimately our mission.

Casita Linda would like to thank you for your continued support of our mission to provide safe and secure homes for families living in extreme poverty in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. It would not be possible without the financial support, volunteer work, and morale support that you provide. We are proud to announce that we are currently constructing Casita #86.

We continue to construct homes in the rural San Miguel neighborhood of Nuevo Pantoja, where we have successfully completed ten homes. We continue to seek families that are living in need and yet continue to strive towards an improved future for themselves and their children.

We would like to annouce our 4th annual Spirit of Hope Gala, Noche de Capilla which will be held at the beautiful Hacienda Santa Clara on October 10, 2015 at 6:00 PM. This is a rare opporunity to experience a wonderful historic Hacienda, one that represents a newly developed educational model between U.S. and Mexican partners in higher education. Hacienda Santa Clara Education and Research Center for Texas A&M, is not open to the public and we are privledged and very greatful to have the use of this campus for our fundraiser. ALL proceeds will go to contributing to our mission of building safe homes for local families living in extreme poverty. Again, Casita Linda would like to take this opportunity to thank the local, national, and international community for their continued support. We appreciate your past and future support, and hope that you and your friends or members of your family will be able to support our goals and ultimately our mission.

Happy Easter everyone!

First, we at Casita Linda would like to thank you for your continued support of our mission to provide safe and secure homes for families living in extreme poverty in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Proving home and a safe environement would not be possible without the financial support, volunteer work, and morale support that you provide.

Over the last six months, the Casita Linda team has been working towards strengthening and expanding our mission to include other living essentials. We are happy to announce that in addition to providing homes, we are providing beds; tables and chairs; and lights. In addition, with the support of the San Miguel Community, we were able to provide families with blankets and warm clothing during the winter.

In addition, we are proud to annouce that last month, Casita Linda was chosen as the recipient of funds raised during a local walk-a-thon, hosted by Jose Vasconcelos Escuela Bilingue, a local bilingual school of excellence that promotes the importance of human values and selfless service to the local community. The San Miguel community has been very supportive and we are so grateful to have the backing of a strong local community in providing for families in need.

As we enter the warmer months of Spring, we look forward to developing new programs for our families, in preparation for the arrival of the summer rainy season. At this time, we continue to be focused in the neighborhood Nuevo Pantoja, an area located just outside of San Miguel. There are some truly wonderful families here, that need our support.

We would like to remind our supporters that none of our officers or board members receive any wages or other benefits. The only individuals who receive any pay are the individuals on our Mexican construction teams and our Executive Director, who is a Mexican and also a local of San Miguel de Allende. We conduct our operations on a budget that is very carefully managed, and more thatn 90% of your contribution goes directly toward the construction of our Casitas.

Casita Linda would again like to thank our local, national, and international communities for their continued support. We appreciate your past and future support and we hope that you and your friends, members of your family and perhaps a local business or charitable organization in your town will also be able to support our work and mission.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Casita Linda is happy to announce that we are currently constructing Casita #82! Casita Linda's Board of Driectors and I, on behalf of all of the families we have served and future families, thank you for your generosity. Providing homes and protection for families living in poverty would not be possible without your financial support, volunteer work, and moral support.

We have had new members join our wonderful team; we are constructing homes in a new local neighborhood, Nuevo Pantoja; we have implemented our new familiy selection process, that has proven to be effective; and we have reduced construction costs. As we enter 2015, we hope to continue to expand and improve our program to effectively reach out to more families in need of a safe home.

We would like to also welcome one of our newly appointed board members, Kim Slote. She has spent the majority of her career in the non-profit field and co-founded the Women's Rights Network, an organization focused on violence towards women and children. Casita Linda is proud to announce that we have just completed Casita #78 for the Cazares family. Casita Linda would like to thank you for your continued support and generosity. None of this would be possible without your financial aid, volunteer work, and moral support.

This year we have had a busy and productive summer. We began buiding in a very rural neighborhood of San Miguel, Nueva Pantoja, where we currently have comepleted two houses.  Both homes have been selected for very hard-working and well deserving local families; Casita #77 was received by a single mother, Maria, and her two kids; and very recently we completed Casita #78 for a family of 9, the Cazares family. We hope to complete another four Casita's by the end of 2014. In addition, Casita Linda has recently implemented new strategies in both the administrative and social aspects of the Casita Linda mission, that have improved operational efficiency and reduced costs. We have also begun our new Ambassador program, where contributors can volunteer to be a national or international Casita Linda representative.

Our newly appointed Board Members, Lyn Gawron and Joane Howard are hard working and very dedicated to our cause. Our new Executive Director, Amber Nieto, is a San Miguel native who is a great asset to Casita Linda. She has excellent administrative skills and a determination to strive to help current and prospective families.

We would also like to announce that next month, on October 11th at 6:30 pm, we will be hosting our 3rd annual Spirit of Hope Gala (Arabian Nights) at the local equestrian club Otomi. Guests will enjoy a lavish dinner by the restaurant b'ui, a Live Auction, and non-stop dancing to the music of JK O'Donnell and the Zu Zu Men. ALL proceeds will go to contributing to our mission of building safe homes for local families living in extreme poverty. For more information please visit our event page

Casita Linda would like to take this opportunity to thank the local, national, and international community for their continued support. We appreciate your past and future support, and hope that you and your friends or members of your family will be able to support our goals and ultimately our mission.
