Our Horses are "Hoofin' it'!

by hoofbeats academy

Hoofbeats Academy needs to transport our equine staff in time of joy and concern. With transport, we could joyfully participate in our community. In times of concern, our emergency plan would include immediate transport. Their service, facilitating physical, intellectual and social change in individuals with disability, results in improvement of quality of life that resonates throughout the community . Transportation will increase program reach and insure equine staff emergency safety.

Lack of program transport impacts both staff and students. We have relied on hired transport to move our horses. This is an acceptable option but limiting. The critical need is emergency equine transport. Emergency transport is most commonly medical. The second need is in natural disaster. Also, the program need is to participate in our community. Currently, we participate in 1-2 horse shows yearly with 1 horse and a few select students. With our own transport, we can include many more.

This project, if successful, will solve our transportation problems. If Hoofbeats Academy owned a horse trailer, we would be able to better protect our horses and better serve our students.

Long-Term Impact

A trailer will improve our impact on students by making community involvement opportunities more available. A trailer will benefit our horses' well being. A trailer will enhance our community outreach increasing awareness and support. With increased support the program can grow.
