Smiles in the faces of participants and the encouragements observed among them during the time of training and program implementation are what encourage us towards a successfully conducting the program. Having a sight of continuation of these activities even after the training program excites us towards the scaling up of program within different schools and students network. This is what I have personally felt during this program implementation.

On 19th June 2013, 29 participants along with students and teachers from 9 different schools were provided training on developing herbal garden in their schools. The program conducted in 2 sessions of Theoretical and Practical work, provided brief knowledge and hands-on activities related with developing herbal garden in their school and community. Discussion & documentary shows made during the theoretical session helped the participants regarding understanding the need of the herbal garden education in school and community. Whereas the hands-on activities during 2nd session provided an insight about how to develop the garden and things to consider / remember during herbal garden preparation.

Mr. Ram (Teacher of Jan Jagrit H. Sec. School, Ikudol) is very excited about the implementation of this program in his school. He quoted – “This program is very good for students because of various aspects covered in it like; knowledge about herbs, hands-on activities, use of herbs in daily life, need of research on local herbs etc. It will also help them through practical education and understanding the values of different locally available herbs in their day to day life”.

Sabina (Student of Shree Bhag Bhairab H. Sec. School, Dalchoki) expressed that she never had so much fun and enjoyed participating in previous training programs. She quoted – “I never realized about the need and importance of herbs that are surrounding us in our environment and are of daily use. Now, not only in my school, I will also preserve and develop a small herbal garden in my home including herbs that are of daily use for using it in my family members”.

After the training program, I felt - this is what we want. An education & the change in behaviour, with an impact in day to day life of students and families. I felt really proud of what we did in the schools and thanked all our supporters for your help from the bottom of my heart for making us able to create an impact in the life’s & in the communities where we work.

We would like to thank you for your support and believing & supporting us in our campaign. Because of YOU, we have been able to bring changes in the learning techniques and education of students. Furthermore, we would like to request you to share the information of our project within your friends and families network in order to receive continuous support for funding the program in other schools.

We hope for the same type of support in the days to come ahead. To get updates regularly regarding our activities, we would like to request you to like our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter to get our tweets. We are also looking forward towards your valuable suggestions and comments regarding our works as well.
