Project Report | Jul 18, 2014
Bulletin News May 2014

By Raquel Henriquez | Communication Supervisor

We’re very excited to be able to tell you about all the NGO’S activities this past May.

Our Work

We work in communities at risk, because on those places there’s violence, unemployment, drug trafficking, dropout and other kinds of social problems.  Our purpose is to build-up leaders to fulfill their dreams, goals, transform their community and support them throughout this journey.

How do we do?

  • First, we get into the communities, we don´t expect people to visit our foundation, and for that reason we have a community-center inside the neighborhood.
  • We build friendships, because we want to know their needs.
  • We develop community leaders, because they can motivate others for change and to make a difference.

IBM Professional Training Program

IBM Company is starting a program with 15 university students to help them in topics such as: time management, customer service, communication and resolution of problems.

The objectives of the project are:

  •  Help students to understand the relation between university and a formal job.
  •  Help students to develop their professional growth plans.
  •  Allow IBM´s workers use their time and skills in a social project.

Currently, there are 90 mentors that will help in this project during 6 months.

Testimony of Professional Women

The “Girls Group” has existed for 4 years in “El Triángulo” and for 2 years in Los Cuadros de Guadalupe. Most of the participants want to study in the university and for this we are inviting professional women to share experiences and motivate them to follow their goals.

The last May 16th, we had the first experience with an architect.  It was a nice experience, because the girls learned more about this career and the college.

Donations:

Last month, we received several donations! We received “foosball” in excellent condition from a volunteer. Also, we got school uniforms donated by Lincoln High School and finally, a donation of $ 500.

We thank you very much for your help and donations. We encourage you to keep donating to our cause and to motivate others to do the same.
