Nearly 50% of the school children in class 5 cannot read a class 2 text book in India, according to ACER Study in 2015. The quality of education in India is not up to the mark and needs urgent attention. School dropouts, child laborers, children from rural illiterate parents, children from traumatic backgrounds miss the early part of their childhood schooling and there is no proper educational model to address this issue. We run a free innovative school and home for this category in children.
School dropouts, child laborers, children from rural illiterate parents, children from traumatic backgrounds and children from broken families miss the early part of their childhood schooling. They don't fit into well into the regular schools, given their issues ranging from psychological to financial and educational. We run a free school-cum-child-care-home for this category of children, based on fun & practical based learning rather than redundant learning happening in regular schools.
An experimental school and child care home have been established in the year 2005 in Mysore, INDIA. Our innovative educational model has been successful in transforming the lives of these children, who have initially lost interest or opportunity for education, as we have bent any rule that would help the child learn happily. Currently, this experimental school has 114 students and 39 students in child care home. This fundraising is meant to meet the operational and infrastructure needs.
The donation would directly benefit the children studying in the school for their education, infrastructure and nutrition needs. Our innovative education model has been appreciated by different stakeholders including education department and government. In the long-run, the continued success of our model would serve as a live case study to the government and educational institutions, which would affect the educational policy of the government and teaching methods in the regular schools.
