Challenge

Rampant Sexual abuse and domestic violence in our community .Sexual abuse to children through child molestation, defilement and 5 women raped every day.It is always the headline on our media almost everyday as children ,senior citizens, youth and women are abused. The sad thing is some are abused with close family members, people they have trusted. Most cases go unreported as they fear stigma and shame in the society they live in.This has lead to increase on the vice. The judiciary is also an issue.

Solution

The organization intend to do more of sensitization to the youth, women working in partnership with organization already doing this.It has been clearly researched that women and the youth need to be empowered economical.kibera being a slum, many people depend on the odd jobs to fend for their families,as they go out for work, they leave the children at home with either the neighbor or a relative who takes advantage and hence abuse the child.Women will be trained on knowing their rights.

Long-Term Impact

The community will be sensitized not to keep quite or shy once abused. They will also know the effect of an abused marriage from all genders. We will also visit schools to give the message and sensitive on the child Protection Act.In the next 5years from now with proper education and sensitization we will have a 60% less cases of gender based violence in our society.Women will be economically empowered and there will be less violence in many homes as statistics shows maintenance is a key component
