Help Ukrainians Displaced People to Begin New Life

Summary

The project will address humanitarian and rehabilitation needs of internally displaced people (110 families) who have migrated to Brody from war areas of Eastern Ukraine. The project will address following areas. 1. Psychological treatment for improving mental health of IDPs. 2. Empowering displaced women to earn livelihood by conducting tailoring and cooking courses. Children development program focusing on educational needs, mental and physical growth. Healthcare for older displaced people.

Challenge

More than 500 forcibly displaced people are currently living in Brody city of Lviv. They had fled their homes due to the military confrontations in the Eastern Ukraine. These people continue to live in miserable conditions because they do not have income to support their children. The main challenges are: Empowering displaced women to become self-sufficient and independent, Enhancing mental and physical growth of children, and providing medical faciliities to older people.

Solution

The project will organize psychologist sessions to improve mental conditions of IDPs. Empower displaced women to earn independently by conducting professional courses in tailoring , stitching and cooking, which will enable them to start earning for their families. Educational and extracurricular activities will enhance mental growth and talent of children. The nourishing food products and medical care to starving children and older people will make them healthy and live longer

Long-Term Impact

The professional courses in tailoring, stitching will create livelihood for 25 women and master classes in cooking and conservation will enable 20 displaced women to earn their livelihood independently. Educational activities will improve mental growth and knowledge of children. Dental treatment to 10 older people will give denture to chew food, 2 women will be receive normal eyesight after cataract operation. Psychologist sessions will reduce depression; thus, they can begin new life
