Help Treat 1,200 Poor Diabetes in Bangladesh

                                                               Project Report.

Karmirhath Hospital is located at Gaibandha in the North-Western corner of Bangladesh. It serves the people of  Gaibandha district and the surrounding areas. We were registered with GlobalGiving Foundation in 2009. Since then, many poor patients were treated with funds from GG.

Case Study:

Sanoar (not his real name):

Sanoar is very poor and a Rixa Puller. He developed diabetes 7 years ago. A social worker brought him in our hospital. After initial tests, he was admitted in the hospital. After about 4 months treatment in our hospital, his diabetes was stabilized. His condition improved a lot. He was given free treatment, thanks to the kind donors of GlobalGiving.

Karmirhath Hospital located at North-West Corner of Bangladesh has been serving the people of Gaibandha district since 1986. The main Services offered by the hospital are The Eye Care Services, the Diabetic Care Services, The Pre-Natal Care Services for the Pregnant Mothers, Children Care Services and Dental Care Services.

During the last three months, 3,000 Diabetic patients have been treated at our hospital. Poor Patients from far and near have been attending the hospital for about last decade knowing that some decent people from abroad have been helping poor patients of the hospital

Case Study:

  1. Parvin (not her real name):

Parvin is about 42 years old. She is a resident of Gaibandha town. Mother of four children, Parvin developed diabetes 7 years ago. Being wife of a day-laborer, she could not arrange fund for treatment. Consequently, she continued to suffer and became weak day by day. About 3 months ago, a social worker brought her to Karmirhath Hospital. She was registered with Diabetic section. She was examined by a doctor, regular routine tests were done, Diabetic Guide Book was given. She started attending hospital every Friday. She was given Insulin regularly free of cost. After about three months' treatment, her diabetes become stabilized. She was asked to attend hospital once in a month.

Due to her continued treatment, her diabetes has stabilized and she is now leading almost a normal  life. This has been possible due to generous help of donors through GlobalGiving.

 

2. Prodeep (not his real name)

    A resident of Gaibandha town, prodeep developed diabetes about ten years ago. He is very poor and could not work due to his illness. As it is known to the people of Gaibandha area that there is noble men abroad who regularly help Karmirhath Hospital patients, Mr, Prodeep also came to the hospital for his free treatment. He was admitted in our hospital. Free treatment was given to him for about six months when his diabetes was stabilized. This has been possible due to generous help of donors through GlobalGiving.

Case Study:

Atwar (not his real name), aged 46 years is a resident of Betkapa village about 15 kilometer from Gaibandha town. Father of two children, Atwar developed diabetes 4 years ago. Being an illiterate day laborer, he thought that diabetes requires a huge amount of money for treatment and as he did not try for treatment. As a result, his condition became worse. One day, a local social worker heard his conditions and brought him to Karmirhath hospital. He was registered with Diabetic section of the hospital. He was examined by a doctor, regular routine tests were done, Diabetic Guide Book was given. He started attending hospital every Friday. He was given Insulin regularly free of cost. After about two months' treatment, his diabetes became stabilized. He was asked to attend hospital once in a month.

Being a day-laborer, he could not arrange fund for treatment. Consequently, he continued to suffer and became weak day by day. About two months ago, a social worker brought him to our Karmirhath Hospital. He was registered with Diabetic section. He was examined by a doctor, regular routine tests were done, Diabetic Guide Book was given. He started attending hospital every Friday. He was given Insulin regularly free of cost.
