Stanytsya Luhanska checkpoint - is one of the few remaining arteries connecting Ukraine with remote districts separated during the civil conflict. Each month 250,000 people have to cross the borderline to meet their relatives and friends, to visit doctors and to receive social aid. More than 1,000 children and few hundred disabled people have to survive there. People may lose consciousness or even die standing in huge lines to cross the checkpoint. Often they get wounded or even killed.
Our organization, together with the NGO "Institute of Peace", acting within the program "Life Line" will install a tent at the checkpoint. Doctor and nurse will provide wounded and sick people with immediate medical assistance. In this tent we will offer hot tea and food for hungry. Our doctor and nurse are volunteers but we have to pay for their accommodation, communication, supply medicine and food. They will be providing medical care to sick and wounded inhabitants every day for one year.
Our program developed for one year and will provide more than 2,000 people with disabilities and kids with medical assistance. The program assures food for 1,000 children and people with disabilities in need. Dozens of people will not die waiting for assistance.
