Pakistan is the second largest Islamic state in the world.In Pakistan transgenders are ignored in every walk of life including, education, government jobs, health care and even security for their life. Transgender people are 49 times more at risk of living with HIV.Free Mobile Hospital Program will introduce HIV awareness, educating, prevention and screening ,healthcare awareness and contemporary healthcare services amongst the underprivileged transgender population of Pakistan.
Transgenders are 49 times more at risk of living with HIV compared to the general population in Pakistan. Transgenders often face social and legal exclusion, economic vulnerability, and are at an increased risk of experiencing violence. Disempowerment and low self-esteem make transgender women, in particular, less likely or less able, to negotiate condom use. HIV-related stigma and transphobia create barriers to the access of HIV testing and treatment services by transgender people.
In such a scenario, a mobile medical services delivery system is the most practical mechanism and in subscription to this view, Foundation for Poor Souls (FFPS) has initiated the Free Mobile Hospital Program for Transgenders . Program reaching out to 1 Million Marginalized beneficiaries in coming two years and treating them free of cost.
Foundation for Poor Souls (FFPS) Free Mobile Hospital Program for Transgenders would be helping the marginalized community by educating and counseling on HIV , health and hygiene and safe sex will also be imparted. This program would also ensure organizing regular health camps improving the quality of life of the marginalized and access to their health care needs. Foundation For Poor Souls will start its Program From Punjab & Sindh Province expanding it to all provinces of Pakistan.
