"Help the Babies Grow Healthy"

Dear friends,

As Mavi Kalem, we know that women and children face more risks in disasters and emergencies. Therefore, our focus in all our work is to empower women and support their access to fundemantal public services.

In Turkey, as in the rest of the world, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on particularly vulnerable groups, individuals with poor access to basic services and poor economic conditions. Access to livelihoods has been restricted as a result of quarantine measures. Many people are laid off or forced to take unpaid leave. With rising unemployment rates and income losses, many families were left without financial support.

When we started the campaign, we targeted households with babies between the ages of 0-12 months and living in deep poverty. However, with the pandemic, we observed and identified that refugee and migrant women's access to livelihoods and health services is further reduced. For this reason, we give priority to the most vulnerable a Syrian and Afghan refugees in the distribution of baby kits that we purchased with your donations.

Thanks to your generous support, we have purchased a total of 124 baby sets to date. With our field teams, we distributed them to the most vulnerable families with babies under the Covid-19 pandemic conditions.

Thank you for your contribution and support when such support is needed most. We will continue to distribute baby kits that we will buy with your support and to support babies in the coming months.
