DeeCilla Comfort Center will house young women, ages 16-28, who have suffered various forms of abuse, such as domestic violence, sexual assault, and human/sex trafficking. These traumatizing issues can strip people from reaching their full potential. But we understand that just because these issues have happened to them, all is not lost; there is still HOPE and, they are not what happened to them. We want to restore their HOPE for the future with a new beginning with your help.
Our area is lacking in both resources for immediate awareness to aid in prevention, as well as specialized support for victims (ages 16-28) of inter partner violence (IPV), Sexual Violence (SV), and Human Trafficking, to include access to housing, workforce development programs, and other tools to help in safety and recovery care. Lack of resources and access to help for IPV, SV, and human trafficking survivors in the west valley increases revictimization for youth and young adults.
Locally established where centralized and collocated resources are missing, DeeCilla Comfort Center provides basic needs for IPV, SV, and trafficking survivors with specialized services for youth and young adults 16-28. Our residential and nonresidential program based intervention services aid in preventing revictimization and promote the prevention of IPV, SV, and trafficking.
Advocacy to promote healthy, respectful relationships in families and community, along with coordinated services for survivors, is vital to ensure healing, recurrence of victimization, and aid to improve community health. We empower and encourage the healing process and road to independence while working with clients to achieve goals and dreams they once lost hope to achieve, creating productive contributors to society.
