This project will raise the visa application fees for the parents of refugee, Hadil, who lives in Edinburgh. Her father is currently in Aleppo, where he cannot receive the medical treatment he needs. Time is running out to bring him to Edinburgh where his loving family can care for him. The first stage of this project is to help this family to raise the visa application fees of 4000 GBP
Hadil hasn't seen her parents in 8 years. Due to her father's declining health, there is not a lot of time left for her to be able to see him, especially if he cannot access the healthcare he needs for his condition. As Hadil and her family are new refugees in Edinburgh, they do not currently have the income to apply for visas for her parents or to support their cost of living if visas are approved.
We at St Peter's want to try to help to raise the visa fees, which will allow their immigration lawyer to submit the visa application. If their visa applications are successful, we will set up a community sponsorship to help with cost of living once her parents arrive.
As we know, there are millions of refugees around the world who are separated from their families and we can't help everyone. However, we can help the person standing directly in front of us. The long term impact of this project is to reunite a loving family that might otherwise have never seen each other again.
