This project will renovate a Comunity Health and Development Centre of Solidarity Community Care Organization at Etope laShilongo village in Omulonga Constituency, Ohangwena Region of Namibia. The Centre houses and kindergarten for 30 children and is the second headquarters of the organization catering for the northcentral regions of the country where the organisation implements its community-based care and development services. It needs urgent renovation since it was built in 2009.
The Community Health and Development Centre of Solidarity Community Care Organisation situated at Etope laShilongo village in Ohangwena Region of Namibia needs urgent renovation as it deteriorating because it has not had a revamp since it was built in 20008/2009 with financial support from Jet Community Awards and the Shelf-Help Program of the US Embassy in Namibia. The Centre houses and kindergarten for 30 children and is used by the organisation for community meetings and service delivery.
Once renovated, the Centre will enable the organisation to continue providing care for 30 children who attend kindergarten and will increase the capacity of the organisation to continue providing community home-based care and community development services to more than 4000 community members of Etope laShilongo village and other nearby villages such Onangwe and Outwilo. It serves as the second headquarters of the organisation in the North and provides essential home-based care services.
Having the Community Health and Develoment Centre of the organisation renovated will help to promote community health and provide basic community home-based care as well as community development services to the communities in the NorthCentral regions of Namibia. Thereby helping promote environmental and personal hygiene in the community and ultimately improving health and the quality of life of individuals and communities in these regions in particular and in Namibia in general.
