This project will allow RefugeeOne to support 200 refugees as they learn skills allowing them to become independent and self-supporting in Chicago.
The U.S. State Department will accept 70,000 refugees as permanent residents this year. RefugeeOne will resettle over 500 new refugees with no financial resources, little or no formal education, limited English skills, and who face additional challenges such as social isolation and culture shock.
RefugeeOne provides apartments, food, clothing, transportation, four levels of English classes, cultural orientation, job readiness training and placement, and family strengthening programs, enabling refugees to become self-supporting.
This project will support and educate 200 refugees for two months as they learn English and job readiness skills that will enable them to obtain jobs, become financially independent, and support their families.
This project has provided additional documentation in a PDF file (projdoc.pdf).
