This project will help provide both academic and vocational education to 200 children in need at Fortune Community School in Solwezi District of Zambia. Charity Centre for Children and Youth Development has constructed a 1x2 classroom that is providing basic education to the less privileged children in the community. The project will help raise money for payment of salaries for teachers and tutors, school uniforms, Books, food, sanitation pads for girls etc.
HIV/AIDS being an incurable pandemic has brought to the increase of Orphans and vulnerable children who have lost their parents Due to HIV. Solwezi District being a provincial capital of north western province, there are over 6,000 orphans and most of these have abandoned school due to luck of support and long distances to the government schools. Secondly, in Humphrey Mulemeba area there is no any other school providing education to the community apart from our organization.
Our organization has constructed a community school which is helping to provide education to the children in need and this project will help provide resources for the provision of school uniforms, Books, salaries for teachers and tutors for vocational skills and the general management of the school.
The project will help educate 200 orphans and vulnerable children allowing them to remain in school and improve on their life. it will reduce the burden on guardians have taken up the responsibilities of taking care of orphans left behind by there relatives and this will also reduce poverty and crime in the community which is on increase as a result of children being found on the street.
