EARC will provide books, clothing, school supplies, food, and access to technological devices for the children in Tobago to support literacy and personal development.
Needs assessment data revealed that when no dependable structures or resources at home or in the community are available, the children and youth are less motivated to achieve or are easily drawn to negative influences. Limited access to books and computers causes setbacks in their learning. They lose motivation and sight of a brighter future for themselves.
EARC has an afterschool program with tutors and facilitators who create a positive and safe learning environment for the children. Funding will allow the program to provide essential resources such as books, access to technological devices and other essentials namely clothing, school supplies and food to help them succeed as students and thrive as healthy and contributing members of their community.
Access to literacy and technology will help the children to feel supported and have the necessary tools to succeed. As confidence is built, they are empowered and motivated about their future to overcome economic and personal setbacks. The community served will increase its human capacity to help improve the health, education, and welfare of our children and families. Investment and support in their lives now allow them to become positive influences in their communities and beyond.
