The organization's aim to contribute to a sustained improvement of living conditions, stability, health, education and economic growth in the rural population of four communities in Gbinle-Dixian chiefdom in Kambia District Sierra Leone West Africa. Harvesting cassava farm is now in progress after 1 year 6 months in field. Thanks for your donations. The project activity is designed to focus on buying a machine for cassava-grater and enhance them to produce enough food which becomes available.
The chiefdom selected is one of the least developed in the areas of poverty. That is, development and the strength of rapid recovery is too poor among to the other chiefdoms. Even though there are enough lands for agriculture activities, but most aged people in these rural areas cannot produce an acre of land. Youths now moved to the cities for sustainability, health, economic development as to name a few. Therefore, will also be a target to being back youths in the villages for help elders.
Since Rice is the stable food and is a seasonal crops. Therefore, the farm families will be additionally grow Cassava as a second crop for sustainability. However farming in most chiefdoms are for subsistence. Kaddra Inc will target only the youths, who will be organized into groups. Under normal circumstances. Cassava can stay in the ground for more than a year with the advantage of growing bigger and more mature tubers. Garri from Cassava can be sold for economic growth for the community.
Even though there are organized groups of youths for cassava farming activities, but they will not strong enough to produce large quantity of garri for both food and for sale. As this project is expected to be self sustaining after the funds are exhausted, the process will be moved forward by increasing the self of the cassava. Therefore by purchasing the machine and the accessories will increase production and marketing aspect.
